Start with the feeling you want
Tell your photographer whether you picture a relaxed walk, a more dressed-up portrait session or something tied to a meaningful place. A few references can explain your preferences, but you do not need a long list of poses. Leave space for interaction that feels like you.
Wear clothes you can move in
Coordinate colour and formality without needing identical outfits. Try sitting, walking and putting an arm around each other in the clothes you choose. Comfortable shoes and layers can make moving between photographs easier.
If you want an outfit change, discuss it beforehand. Changing takes time and requires a practical place to do it; it should be part of the session plan.
Share meaningful details
For engagement photographs, mention if ring details are important. Tell Sahara Studios about any prop or pet you would like included, so timing and access can be considered before the day.
A small number of meaningful details is often easier to work into a session than a long collection of props. Decide which photographs matter most to both of you.
Plan the practical side
- Confirm the meeting point and how you will get there.
- Consider time of day, the setting and expected weather.
- Allow enough time to arrive without rushing.
- Mention mobility needs or anything that helps you feel comfortable.
- Check your chosen location’s current access requirements.
You do not need posing experience
Sahara Studios sessions combine relaxed direction with natural interaction. Simple movement and prompts provide something to focus on together. If you feel camera-shy, say so before the session.
Couples + engagements are $299 per hour + HST, with approximately 100+ photographs per hour. Unsafe session weather means rescheduling. Explore location planning before sending your inquiry.
