Decide what you want to remember
Your graduation portraits can focus on the gown and diploma, a favourite outfit, the people around you or a combination. Pick a few priorities before the session so the plan fits the time available. Tell Sahara Studios about any photographs that matter especially to you.
Prepare your outfit and regalia
Try on the outfit you want to wear with your gown or other regalia. Check the fit and prepare it ahead of time. Bring your cap or diploma folder if you want them included and they are available to you.
If your regalia is rented or collected around convocation, check its availability before choosing a portrait time. For outdoor or campus sessions, bring comfortable footwear for walking between photo stops.
Bring meaningful details
- Diploma folder or graduation items you want photographed
- Flowers or a small personal prop, if part of your plan
- Your agreed outfit and useful weather layers
- Any items needed to keep you comfortable between photographs
Plan for anyone joining you
Let the photographer know in advance if friends or family may be included. Share group size, the mix of individual and group photographs you want, and when everyone can meet. Avoid relying on last-minute messages to gather a group across a busy campus.
A short list of important groupings can help keep the session focused. Confirm the scope and session pricing as part of booking.
Confirm the route and timing
Choose a clear meeting point and leave time for walking. Discuss the ceremony schedule, location access and delivery needs in your inquiry. Graduation sessions include approximately 100+ photos per hour, with delivery within 2–3 weeks.
Use the graduation location guide to narrow down a setting that fits your day.
